Bill Gates Is Turning Poop Into Yummy, Drinkable Water

The water in that glass Bill Gates is drinking from? It was poop once. The Microsoft founder is putting his support behind a game-changing innovation that turns feces into delicious, drinkable H20 and energy. It's called the Omniprocessor, a steam-engine-powered machine that treats and boils feces, and ultimately turns that human excrement into liquid.

As it turns out, poop and the way communities deal with it is a very important issue. Contaminated water kills roughly 700,000 children annually, because many developing countries don't actually treat sewage. Some even burn the feces for fuel, which requires a massive amount of energy. The Omniprocessor can generate its own energy and turn the waste into an invaluable resource.

Mr. Gates recently went onto Jimmy Fallon's show to promote the Omniprocessor and tricked the late night host into drinking poop water. Watch his hilarious reaction below.
