These LGBTQ+ YouTubers Will Fill You With Pride No Matter Who You Are

If you're reading this, then you probably already know there's a huge following for LGBTQ+ vloggers on YouTube, not to mention Instagrammers who spread the love on both platforms. Shortly after my sister Rachel and her girlfriend Megan started dating, it became clear that their friends and family loved their love. They wanted to see them in action, exploring new places, joking around with one another, and most importantly, addressing LGBTQ+ topics that people all over the world don't just want to be informed about, but need to be. With the launch of their YouTube channel, Megan and Rachel joined a community of influencers who all spread the same message about sexuality and identity: it's OK to be who you are.

There are so many reasons you're bound to become a subscriber to these channels, though. If you're into fashion and beauty, Nikita Dragun and Andrea Russett will instantly feel like your new best friends. If you're here to learn, Stevie Boebi makes queer educational videos and teaches sex education on her channel. And if you want to laugh, trust Hannah Hart to crack you the f*ck up (she also recently managed to find time to star in Taylor Swift's "You Need to Calm Down" music video — no big deal). "Feeling pride as someone who is LGBTQ+ is not just about celebrating with the community, but about feeling supported — and that comes with people watching our videos," Megan told me.

Loving the Dash is a channel that follows Rachel Wasilak and Megan Kai, a young couple living in NJ. The channel focuses on inspiring others to spend their lives doing things they love with the people they love, so you'll see plenty of new experiences here — traveling to festivals for the first time, ordering everything on the menu at hole-in-the-wall restaurants, and exploring awesome locations. The meaning behind the YouTube name? Loving the Dash refers to the time between the year you were born and the year you die; the in between. You were given one chance in this "dash," so spend it doing the things you love with the people who care about you and support you for being you. Follow them here.

MyHarto

Hannah Hart is best known for her drunk kitchen videos. Well, maybe she was until she was featured in Taylor Swift's "You Need to Calm Down" video, which included many celebrities and influencers from the LGBTQ+ community and promoted equality. nowthisisliving

Shannon Beveridge is one of the most well-known LGBTQ+ public figures. Her YouTube videos run the gamut, addressing general LGBTQ+ topics and more personal stories about her life. Andrea Russett

Andrea Russett describes herself as an oddball. She started making videos out of teenage boredom, but one look at her Instagram confirms she was born to be a fashion and beauty influencer. Andrea's not afraid to be herself and interact with her fans. (She curses and she may or may not have admitted she was stoned on occasion.) She's like the one best friend you're missing from your life. Not all of her videos address LGBTQ+ issues, but Andrea has come out to her fans. Follow her here.
