So, Uh, You Can Kill Off Emoji Family Members One by One in Google Slides Now

Google Slides is super helpful for work and school projects, but it turns out the presentation program also has the power to kill off emoji families one by one — so, uh, sorry, Girl With Pigtails.

You can try the disturbing trick for yourself by opening up a blank Google Slide and inserting a four-member family emoji. The hack works by deleting one element at a time from merged groups. So rather than erasing the entire "family with mother, father, and two daughters" emoji, for example, hitting the "delete" button makes the daughters disappear one by one, followed by the mom (or right-parent emoji), until only one face is left. Essentially, you can kill off each family member one at a time, which seems like a pretty extreme version of the Sims, if you ask me.

This mystifying trick works on over 30 emoji in Google Slides, including all of the family pairings and all of the kissing emoji, which become pared down to a single human head, a red heart, and the kiss-mark emoji before disappearing. You can also try deleting the wrestling men — which turn into wrestling women, but not vice versa — and the dancing men — which turn into dancing women, but not vice versa. Watch the Twitter video ahead to see the deletion trick in action, and open up Google Slides for yourself to test it out.
