Apple Just Announced Not 1 but 5 New Products

A new iMac experience is coming to Apple customers — the company just announced the release of two iMac products with Retina 4K and 5K displays, as well as three upgrades to its accessories line.

A Retina 4K display will be arriving to Apple's 21.5-inch collection of iMacs, and from now on, every 27-inch iMac will have a 5K display. The new 21.5-inch iMacs boast 9.4 million pixels of resolution, which Apple claims will offer "4.5 times more than the standard 21.5-inch iMac." Over on the 27-inch iMacs, the displays now have 14.7 million pixels. The new displays are perfect for anyone who works with photos or videos a ton, since you'll be able to notice more colors and the processor will be much faster. Each iMac starts shipping today with OS X El Capitan — the 21.5-inch iMac starts at $1,499 and the 27-inch iMac at $1,799.

However, that's not all the company released today. A new Magic Mouse 2, Magic Trackpad 2, and Magic Keyboard are also available for purchase. The keyboard promises to use "13 percent less space on your desktop," and the Magic Mouse 2 is much lighter. The real news here is that the Magic Trackpad 2 will incorporate Force Touch, a feature that has already existed on several of the new MacBook products. Force Touch gives you more control over gestures on your trackpad depending on how hard you press down. Bonus: each device no longer requires a battery, since each is rechargeable via a Lightning cable.

The Magic Keyboard will retail for $99, the Magic Mouse 2 for $79, and the Magic Trackpad 2 for $129. The keyboard and mouse work with any Bluetooth-enabled Mac running OS X 10.11 or later, and the trackpad only works with a Bluetooth 4.0-enabled Mac also running OS X 10.11 or later. If you buy a new iMac, the keyboard and mouse come with it, but you'd have to order the trackpad.
