How the New Kardashian Websites Majorly Screwed Up

It's a new era for the Kardashian-Jenner sisters, as each one has released an app and website on Monday. The apps are free to download at first but then require a $3 monthly subscription to access content. The sisters will focus on different aspects of their lives: Kim Kardashian will express what she's really into at the moment, Khloé Kardashian will provide fitness information, Kylie Jenner will share her music taste and makeup tutorials, and Kendall Jenner will tell you about her fashion-filled adventurous life. The only sister without an app and website so far is Kourtney Kardashian, but that will come soon with a focus on her life as a mom.

The launch of these apps isn't as surprising as how quickly and fast these apps have gained momentum on the App Store. Kylie's app is sitting happily in the number three spot, with Khloé's app at number 39, Kim's at 42, and Kendall's at 65. When Kylie's app first launched, it had even more reviews than Facebook (though the reviews for Facebook are only for its most recent update, not of all time).

Most reviews and tweets about Kylie's app are positive from fans, with most pretty excited about gaining a closer look at her life.

The App Store is giving the Kardashian apps extra traction with a banner on the "featured" section, as well as calling out Kim's app as one of the best new apps. Each sister is also holding on to the top four trending spots in search.

Despite the popularity of the apps, it seems the technical team behind the sisters websites had a glaring issue — the developers left their API (which contains user information) open, meaning any other developer could easily access names, emails, and photos of users. However, it appears that issue has since been fixed.

If you've doubted the power of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, it might be time to finally stop. Whether you want to face it or not, these sisters are powerful businesswomen who want to infiltrate every aspect of your life. See what the apps look like ahead.
