Someone Gave Female Video Game Characters the Bodies They Should Have

Video games are so popular in part because they're used to escape reality — the user feels completely immersed in the altered environment, and every last detail is perfected by artists and developers. But one aspect of video games has always been a little too far from realistic: the way female characters are portrayed.

Women in video games almost always have big boobs, tiny waists, and perfect muscles — the "perfect body" that, for millions of young girls behind the console, creates an unattainable standard. Bulimia.com decided to find out what some beloved characters would look like with real bodies and with the help of Photoshop, achieved some pretty fabulous results.

"If video game creators are going to pride themselves on accurate digital representations, then it's time for them to get real about women," reads the article on Bulimia.com. Preach!

Ahead, check out what some of the most popular female characters in video games would look like if they had the measurements of the average American woman's body.
