This Iconic House From The Goonies Is Permanently Closed to Visitors

If you're a diehard fan of The Goonies, doing the "truffle shuffle" is high on your priority list when you visit the house that was featured in the 1985 cult classic. Located in Astoria, OR, the home attracts more than 1,500 visitors a day. But the volume of attention it receives has caused headaches for the owner of the home. She used to give impromptu house tours and even welcomed fans, but since the rise in social media attention and visitors, she has had enough.

According to KGW News, visitors had begun to leave beer bottles and cigarette butts on the front lawn and even let their dogs urinate on the grass outside.

Tourists who came to visit the house on Tuesday were turned away with a sign reading "private property," and blue tarpaulin was used to cover up the house to dissuade guests from taking photos.

Another sign read, "Imagine that you buy a house, fix it up, spend money, time, and love. Then the city of Astoria encourages 100,000's of people to come and stand in front and view it." Sorry, Goonies fans, looks like your truffle shuffle days on that iconic lawn are over.
