You Can Now Watch Netflix on the Plane — Find Out Which Airline Offers It!

Until recently, flying long distances meant one of three things: paying for shoddy WiFi on the plane in a failed attempt to stream movies while in the air, using precious memory and money to download in-flight entertainment ahead of time, or trying to find another way to occupy your mind during the dull flight. But thanks to one airline's new partnership with Netflix, those concerns are a thing of the past. Virgin America launches its #NetflixOnboard initiative this month, providing free high-speed WiFi during flights so that Netflix subscribers can get their binge-watch on . . . at 35,000 feet!

Complete with Netflix-branded airplanes and ViaSat WiFi (which is eight times faster than your in-flight Internet service), Virgin's Netflix partnership will also provide free access to House of Cards for passengers who don't subscribe to the entertainment streaming service. "Netflix and Virgin America are both known for their focus on innovation and for shaking up their respective industries — so we're thrilled to team up to bring the best in technology and entertainment to the skies," said Abby Lunardini, Virgin America's vice president of brand marketing and communications. "These latest generation investments in our WiFi and entertainment platforms allow us to provide the largest breadth of streamed content ever available at 35,000 feet."

To utilize this new in-flight experience, passengers on Virgin planes equipped with ViaSat WiFi need only connect to the plane's network (for free!) and log in to Netflix. It's so simple!
