Why Apple's Convinced You'll Love the New Smaller iPad Pro

Apple's newest addition to the iPad line, the iPad Pro, came out only a few months ago, but the company has announced a smaller version of the product. During an event on March 21, Apple revealed all the key details of the smaller iPad Pro. It's especially convenient for designers since it is smaller and lighter (it weighs less than a pound). Other cool features include palm detection so you can draw with your hand on the screen without changing the rendering just as you would draw on paper. Check out all the information below.

  • Screen size: 9.7 inches.
  • Colors: Gold, silver, space gray, and for the first time — rose gold.
  • Camera: 12 megapixel with ability to shoot 4K video. Designers can use this camera for work as it's the most advanced camera in an iPad to date.
  • Features: It will have the Smart Connector and a Smart Keyboard and will work with the Apple Pencil. It is especially advanced for drawing: there is a palm detector that allows you to draw with the pencil while your hand is on the screen without changing the rendering. The screen is 40 percent less reflective, is 25 percent brighter, and has 25 percent more color saturation than previous generations of iPads.
  • Storage: 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
  • Price: $599 for the 32GB model, $749 for the 128GB model, and $899 for the 256GB model.
  • Availability: Preorders begin March 24 and are expected to ship on March 31.
