Samsung's New Phone Has a Feature No Other Phone Has

In addition to announcing the Note 5 this week, Samsung debuted another member of its smartphone collection: the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. It promises improved design and dual-curved display, plus a feature called Live Broadcast that no other phone has. You can preorder it today, and it will hit stores in the US and Canada on Aug. 21. Here's what else you can expect:

  • 5.7-inch display — Samsung says the screen is bigger but the phone is smaller
  • 4 GB of RAM
  • New feature called Live Broadcast, which lets you stream moments straight from your phone to YouTube
  • Another new feature called Apps Edge and Peoples' Edge, which lets you swipe the edge of your phone to access apps and contacts
  • New color: silver titanium
  • 5-megapixel front-facing camera and 16-megapixel rear-facing camera
  • Camera can shoot in 4K
  • Faster wireless charging so you can go from empty to full in two hours — that's an improvement of over 60 minutes
  • Improved software image stabilizer for recordings
  • Feature called Side Sync — you can easily sync your phone to PC and Mac and back
  • Ultra high-def screen — colors are deeper, more vibrant
  • The metal bezel will be more subtle and refined
  • Will support fastest 4G LTE networks

No word yet on pricing, but we'll keep you posted. Ahead, check out more photos of the phone.
