You Can Finally Download Apple's Newest Operating System For Macs

At Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, the company announced a new operating system called OS X El Capitan, which is now available to download from the App Store.
Before downloading it, make sure your software is at least up to date before attempting to install it. If you're still unsure about whether or not to upgrade, take a look at some of the new features which Apple Senior Vice President of Software Engineering Craig Federighi demoed at WWDC in June.

Split View
Instead of minimizing an app or using your laptop screen and another monitor, Split View literally creates a split screen between two apps. You can adjust the size of either app to fully create an optimal experience of what you need to see and use on your Mac.

New Mail Features
Gestures are coming to Mail, letting you quickly decide whether or not to keep or delete an email. A two-finger swipe will mark an email unread and another will delete an email.

Pinned Sites in Safari
Instead of creating bookmarks, Pinned Sites will always keep your most visited websites right in your browser window. You get to choose what sites those are, which will also constantly refresh so you're never out of touch with the latest news and updates.
A muting feature will also come to Safari, which will allow you to mute all windows so you never have to hear an annoying advertisement again.

Spotlight Becomes Even More Useful
Spotlight will become an even better search tool, as it will include weather and sports scores updates. It'll also allow you to search for folders, documents, and images with phrases that include specific names or places. You can actually type in "search for slides from Angela," and it'll look for exactly that.

Spaces and Mission Control Gets New Upgrades
Spaces and mission control offer new features that will make your life easier. You can drag new applications into new desktops and choose to use the Split View feature or make it completely full screen.
