We live in a time where Instagram-famous pets are officially a thing — and what a time to be alive, indeed; pure cuteness overload at the touch of a "follow" button. If you aren't already following this insanely cute cat, let us be the ones to introduce you to her. Nala was once a shelter cat, but now she's a proudly owned feline who's brightening days of people all over the Internet.

"It wasn't until she was adopted and cared for that she became the lovable cat she is today," wrote Varisiri Mathachittiphan on Nala's official website — official website! "Even though I never really intended to adopt a kitten that day, when I saw her, I just knew it was meant to be."

The owner continued to explain how she wants to use the huge Instagram following to leverage the conversation about shelter animals. "I've never imagined she would have this many followers, but now that we have your attention, there is an unfortunate truth that occurs in shelters. The truth is that kittens and puppies are helpless and rely on their human companions to care for them."
