Mark Zuckerberg's Baby News Isn't the Only Major Thing He Just Announced

Welcome to the world, Max Zuckerberg! On Dec. 1, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the birth of his daughter with wife Priscilla Chan in a Facebook post. That's not the only surprise he dropped — he and Chan also wrote a joint letter to their daughter revealing that they will give away 99 percent of their Facebook shares so that little Max and her generation can have a bright future. That money will be funneled through a new foundation, the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, of which Zuckerberg will have total control over. Read the full post of his announcement below.

Back in November, five months after Zuckerberg and Chan announced that they were expecting a baby girl, he shared an intimate photo of the two of them.

The photo was taken backstage at Vanity Fair's New Establishment Summit by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz. This wasn't the first time Zuckerberg shared something deeply touching. In the original post on Facebook about the pregnancy, Zuckerberg wrote a personal message that detailed how the exciting news came after the couple experienced three miscarriages.
