Here's How to Use Instagram Stories, the Newest Feature You Might Hate

Instagram's newest feature is one super familiar and pretty easy to use. The new feature, called Instagram Stories, is basically like a Snapchat Story. Just in case you need a refresher or want to see what it looks like on Instagram, we've outlined how to make your own Instagram Story ahead. Have fun playing around with it, if you're not someone who's severely upset by it.

To start an Instagram Story, tap on the plus icon in the top left corner.

You can either take a new photo, record a new video, or upload something you've previously taken. To do the latter option, swipe down from the top center of your screen.

Once you've taken what you need, you can save it to your Story. But what you should really do is start playing around with some of the decorating tools.

To add text, tap on the "Aa" icon. You can write something and move it around the screen. To draw something, tap on the pen icon. Under the pen icon options, you can choose to use a pen (draws thinner), a marker (draws a bit thicker), or a light pen that does cool translucent drawing. Save your photo once you're done by hitting the check mark at the bottom.

See who's seen your Story.

Tap on your Story to find out who's looked at it. To find out, just tap on the icon with the eye at the bottom.

The download icon will save your Story to your phone. The upload icon next to it will set your Story up for a regular Instagram post. The trash icon will delete your Story.

Tap on the gear icon in the seen section, which is located in the top left corner. You'll see a new section where you can dictate who can see your Story and who can reply to it. Ta-da! That's all you need to know on how to create an Instagram Story!
