The 1 Thing You Have to Do If You Want Pikachu For Your Pokémon Go Starter

By now it's clear that Pokémon Go has taken over the world. Don't fight it. Lean in to the curve, and embrace the amazing game that will make you simultaneously nostalgic and excited for something completely new. Obviously, Pikachu is the most famous Pokémon, and he also happens to be f*cking adorable (although arguably not as burly as some of the other starters Pokémon Go options). Thankfully, there is a way to make him your starter Pokémon with a few easy steps.

We get why people want Pikachu as their starter — however, it isn't quite so simple. You're only offered three options — Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander — to start. But with the help of this awesome YouTube tutorial, you'll find out the details of the hack with a full breakdown ahead.

Make a new account, and get to the stage where you see the three starting Pokémon.

You'll see Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander. DO NOT click on any of them!

Move away from the three starters.

In order to catch Pikachu for your starter, you'll need to be in an area where you're able to walk around. Once the three other starters show up on your screen, you must walk away from them until they disappear off the screen.

You have to walk away from the three starter Pokémon four times.

Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle will disappear and reappear near you each time you walk away from them. You must do this four times total. According to the video, you only need to walk less than 200 feet to make the Pokémon disappear and reappear.
