Is Facebook Trying to Look More Like a Dating App?

Whether you love or hate Facebook, you most likely check it every day and probably spend a little bit of time curating your profile. Well, your profile is about to get a lot more exciting with several changes coming from Facebook, including the ability to create a looping profile picture video.

Called a "Profile Video," the feature will let users create a looping video that will sit at the top of their profile. It's essentially a GIF that will make your profile cooler and more fun to visit. This customization comes with two other new features: the ability to create a one-line bio of who you are with emoji and being able to choose five photos to feature on your profile page.

If you're not that excited about your profile turning into a video, you can keep your static profile picture, which will become centered and much bigger on your page. And just like an out-of-office email, Facebook is going to let you set a specific profile picture that will only show for a certain amount of time. Once that timer is done, your profile picture will immediately change back to whatever it was before.

All these features will be available on mobile only and are starting to be tested out to iPhone users in the UK and California, but they're expected to roll out to all users soon. Look ahead to see what the new profiles will look like and start imagining what you want your profile video to be!
