Smart thermostat Nest announced that it is getting friendlier with other smart-home gadgets. The company announced new partners at CES for its Work With Nest program. They include home automation technologies you've probably never heard of, like Control4 and Crestron. These companies help bring features like controlling fancy lighting and entertainment systems to homes. The new partners join companies you have heard of, like Jawbone (when the band wakes you up, the thermostat adjusts) and Whirlpool (thermostat communicates with washer to conserve energy). It's just one indication that smart-home systems (and not just gadgets) are the future.
